The original of ?Ostra Brama? (Ostrabramskaya) icon of Mother of God was delivered to Vilnius, Lithuania from Crimea in the 14th century. The icon provides a focal point for Byzantine (Eastern) Catholics, Roman Catholics and the Orthodox faith. The original icon can be seen from the street below in its chapel housing at the Ostra Brama gate. Her crossed hands show an attitude of prayer and The Mother is depicted on the icon without the Child.
