Genre painting nesting dolls

First of all we would like to say that all these nesting dolls are painted by hand. The whole process of making of nesting dolls is quite long and very labour-intensive.The wooden form itself is turned using primitive tools but in spite that (or thank to that) the form is made so that each half matches each other very precisely. Painting is made by hand and there is no one similar dolls, close copies but not exactly the same. Even finishing with oil is made by hand without any equipment. Usual technique of covering with lacquer is very simple - a crafter put hand into liquid lacquer and then rub into painted doll; this method allows to get uniform oil film in condition of putting 5-6 layers of lacquer with drying of each layer for 24 hours.
