There is an old Russian tradition - when they want to show a respect to a person they meet him/her with salt and bread. The person should take salt and bread or take some bread andput it into salt and eat to show that he/she accept hospitality and good will of hosts. Then guest are treated with tea, cakes (pirogy) and other delicious food.
The doll was well painted and finished with glossy oil lacquer
