This 5 pieces Russian nesting doll was painted by amateur artist Letukov Vladimir. He was a track driver but after injury of the feet he could not work as a driver any more and to earn for his living he started to pain matryoshka nesting doll, this is his old passion.

This matryoshka symbolizes old Russian tradition of hospitality. When Russians want to show respect to a person they meet him/her with salt and bread. The person should take salt and bread or take some bread and put it into salt and eat to show that he/she accept hospitality and good will of hosts. Then guest are treated with tea, cakes (pirogy) and other delicious food.

The nesting doll is finished with some layers of glossy lacquer.
