Lacquer miniatures and boxes from Russian Palekh, Mstera, Kholui and Fedoskino are known all over the world. Traditions of lacquer box painting came to Russia from the Western countries in 17century. Since the beginning of 19 century there were many Russian native factories that produced lacquered articles painted in own styles. Old traditions of lacquer box painting still are alive.
