The House of Fabergé is a jewelery firm founded in 1842 in Imperial Russia by Gustav Fabergé. The shop produced jewelry Fabergé eggs for the Russian Tsars. The majority of these jewelry eggs were miniature ones and they were popular gifts at Easter. They would be worn on a neck chain either singly or in groups. However, the most famous eggs produced by the House were the larger ones made for Alexander III and Nicholas II. The eggs are made of precious metals or hard stones decorated with combinations of enamel and gem stones. Only 42 these eggs survived and they in museums and personal collection. The Russian company AKM from St.Petersburg presents collection of jewelry eggs made on Fabergé motives and in Fabergé style. The eggs are made of brass and then gilded, picture is made with enamel, all eggs are well decorated with Austrian crystals.
