Chuch Our Lady Kazan in Vyritssa

Today we have a chance to visit a small town Vyritsa located about 60 km away from St.Petersburg on the small river Oredezh. The town actually is a holiday village, a place where people from large and noisy St.Petersburg have summer houses and where they spend day-off and holidays. The town/village located in the thick forest mainly with pine and fir trees and it had a unique natural air conditions. This special air made a bad trick with the village – when in 1991 the USSR felt down many newly appeared rich people wanted to have a house there so with time the forest got to be more and more sparse, more and more 3-4 floor houses appeared there, more and more huge cars disturbed silence of the village.

Changes of prices for Spiderman comics from 1972 to 1994

Do you like comics? I guess many of people says: "Yes!" though there are of those who call comics chewing gum for not bright persons. Personally I do not read (is it the right word "read"?) comics but I am person from other century and from other society - I was born in the Soviet Union in last century, I had gotten education in the Soviet education system (do you know that the Soviet education system was the best in the world? No? But who was the first to launch into cosmic space a man? No, ragazzi, avete zbaliati as said Carlo Colloddi in his story about Pinocchio,  not America, that was the country USSR).

Template to paint matryoshka on paper

The popularity of matryoshka (nesting dolls) grows from year to year and it spreads to many countries. Matryoshka motives appear in designs of many goods, they became common decorative elements. So this is natural that many people want to try to paint own matryoshka, especially this is interesting for kids.

Now this is possible to buy a set of blank unpainted nesting dolls but they are relatively expensive taking into account that this is easy to spoil the unpainted matryoshka especially for inexperienced artists. Here I would like to offer you an alternative solution how your kids can try to paint matryoshka and it will cost for your nothing. The only limitation is that this is a flat image on a sheet of paper but for small kids this is even better solution.

Church of Our Lady of "The Omen" in Pushkin town

Today I had a chance to visit the church of Our Lady of "The Omen" in Pushkin town, a small town  about 15 km away from St.Petersburg. Many times I went by this cozy pretty church which is a real adornment of Pushkin but did not pay attention on some interesting details which I would like to share with you. But at the beginning a few words about the church.

Homeless man with a suitcase

The other day I had a short walk on the central street of St.Petersburg street Nevskiy Prospect (Nevskiy Avenue). As all central streets of large cities and especially those which are tourist centers the street is c rowdy and noisy and if you are not a tourist you would better choose parallel streets and you will save much time, efforts and nerves. That is right but in that day I walked down the Nevskiy Porspect and saw many new things and many changes - new shops, new ads, new people, new very expensive cars - I realized how the city, people, country changed during last 1-2 years.
